National Roads Authority > Our Projects > Road closure and restrictions widening of the 22km Bertil Harding Highway

As the pavement works on the Bertil Harding Highway is still in progress, the Contractor, Arezki S.A is hereby informing the general public that from Monday May 27, 2024, the right lane coming from Bijilo Junction Roundabout to Senegambia Junction Roundabout will be closed to all traffic to allow the paving of the second layer of the asphalt concrete for that section of the Bertil Harding Highway.
Through traffic is advised to avoid this area during the closure periods as there will be significant impacts to all roadway users. Roadway users are advised to use the diversion or seek alternative routes during these periods until the paving work is completed. Detour signs will be in place to alert motorists, pedestrians, and bicyelists about the temporary road closure.
The National Roads Authority (NRA) and Ministry of Transport, Works, and Infrastructure (MoTWI understand the challenges and inconveniences that commuters, residents, bicyclists, and pedestrians will experience during the closure periods and asks for patience and cooperation as we work towards the completion of this project
