Road lane closure and restrictions widening of the 22km Bertil Harding Highway

National Roads Authority > Our Projects > Road lane closure and restrictions widening of the 22km Bertil Harding Highway

As the construction of the Bertil Harding Highway Road is in progress, the Contractor, Arezki S.A is hereby informing the general public that the laying of the second layer of asphalt concrete around the Brusubi roundabout will commence on Wednesday 20 March 2024 towards Friday 22 March 2024.
The lane from the Brusubi Roundabout towards Sukuta – Jabang roundabout will be closed to all traffic. The closure will also impact all traffic on the Brusubi Overpass heading towards Sukuta – Jabang roundabout. During the work, the right lane towards the Senegambia area will remain open.
Through traffic is advised to avoid this area during the closure periods as there will be significant impacts to all roadway users. Roadway users are advised to use the diversion or seek alternative routes during these periods until the paving work is completed. Detour signs will be in place to alert motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists about the temporary road closure.
The National Roads Authority (NRA), Ministry of Transport, Works, and Infrastructure (MoTWI) and OIC Secretariat understands the challenges and inconveniences that commuters, residents, bicyclists, and pedestrians will experience during the closure periods and asks for patience and cooperation as we work to complete this project.
