Lot 2 of the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) Roads project in the Central River Region is 63.1% complete.
The 50km road project is distributed into three sections as
Section 1- stretches from Karantaba – Reneru – Tabanani- Demfaye- Njaga Fitu Fulla is 26km long.
Section 2- starts from Njau Loop to Carol Warf, 12km, and
Section 3- links Laminkoto- Banni- Youna and Kunting is 12km.
The contractor Cornerstone is currently working on two roads out of the three road sections.
Base course processing is underway on section 1 – Karantaba Road, while drainage structures are being constructed on section 3, Laminkoto-Banni-Youna-Kunting Road.
The Contractor has already commenced the Prime coat on Karantaba Road.
Below is the progress update for each road section:
Njawo Loop up to Carol Warf (12km).
• All earthworks, including subgrade and subbase layers, have been completed.
• Drainage structures have been fully completed.
• The base course layer is 98% completed, and sealing work is scheduled to proceed subsequently.
Overall progress: 72%
Karantaba-Reneru-Tabanani-Demfaye Njaga-Litu Fulla (26km).
• Earthworks, SubgradelayersSubbase lacompleted0% completion.
• Drainage works are 100%.
• Base processing is currently in progress.
• Prime coat- in progress
Overall progress: 68.6%
Laminkoto-Banni-Youna-Kunting (12km).
• The earthworks have been fully completed, while the subbase layer is 85% complete.
• The base course has reached 55%whileetion white drainage structures are at 18%
Overall progress: 48%
