The National Roads Authority (NRA) on Thursday held a stakeholder engagement with advertising and maintenance partners on the beautification of the 22km Bertil Harding Highway (currently under construction).
The meeting organised by the NRA was aimed at engaging the maintenance partners, advertising agencies, and GSM operators to beautify and make the Bertil Harding Highway a well-maintained and attractive highway.
The Managing Director of the National Roads Authority (NRA), Mr. Ousman Sanyang outlined the importance of this meeting, saying that the Bertil Harding Highway is a new piece of infrastructure in the country that needs good advertising and maintenance partners to make it more beautiful, attractive and well maintained.
He also acknowledged the concerns raised by the stakeholders concerning the allocation of billboards while promising to improve on NRA regulations and standardisation of all new billboards along the newly built infrastructure.
Sulayman Sumareh Janneh, Deputy Managing Director, NRA, assured the partners that the Authority will not compromise the standards and regulations on the allocation of the billboards.
According to him, the NRA wants to change the look of the country, starting with the Bertil Harding Highway Road.
For his part, George Jatta, Technical Director, NRA also informed the stakeholders that the Bertil Harding Highway is not the only area for advertising and beautification, but also the OIC 50km roads currently under construction, which also have streetlight poles which could be used for advertisement as well.
