The National Roads Authority (NRA), together with the Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure on Friday, began its ongoing four-to-project site at Nuimi Hakalang Loop and Secondary Roads Project in the North Bank Region.
The Hakalang Loop Road project starts from Bunaidu to Kuntair through Chilla Jurunko, including Albreda to Fass Saho and Bangally to Bafuloto in the North Bank Region (NBR).
The 84.5km project is contracted to Compagnie Sahelid’entrepriseprise (CSE), while Pace & Gamecs are the consultants.
According to the consultant, Felix Ocloo, the progress of the work is at 69%, adding that 24km are already Asphalted.
However, the Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Ebrima Sillah said he is happy with the level of progression of the work in the Hakalang Loop Road project noting that the ongoing road in the NBR doesn’t have much difference in terms of quality compared to that of the OIC Bertil Harding Road project in the Urban areas.
He expressed optimism that the ongoing project is right on track. He, however, said that they are hopeful that by June 2024, the road will be completed.
According to him, the quality of the road will not be compromised, as the construction is monitored by the NRA and the consultant.
