The contractor, Compagnie Sahelienne D’entreprise (CSE), has already laid about 30km of asphalt in the ongoing construction of Nuimi Hakalang Loop and Secondary Roads Project.
The Hakalang Loop Roads Project, which starts from Buniadu to Kuntaya through Chilla Jurunko, including Albreda to Fass Saho and Bangally to Bafuloto in the North Bank Region is 84.5km
The representative of the Consultant (Pace &Gamecs), Felix Ocloo, said the progress of the work is moving faster after the laying of 30km of asphalt
“We already completed the laying of asphalt from 00km at Bunaidu to Sika. We are preparing to continue with the remaining kilometres in the coming months based on our production,” he further stated.
According to him, they are working on laying asphalt on other loop areas, revealing that they are on schedule to complete the project at the end of May based on the new schedule.
However, the Minister of Transport, Works, and Infrastructure, Hon. Ebrima Sillah said he is delighted with the level of progression of work in the Hakalang Loop Road project.
With 30km of the road already been asphalt, he said, the contractor is still on schedule for the timely completion of the project, adding that there would also be road furniture, and zebra crossings for safety precautions.
According to him, the road will help in addressing the transportation issues that have affected the people of the North Bank Region for years.
Minister Sillah urged drivers and motorists to be responsible while driving on the newly constructed road.
Dembo Samateh, deputy governor, North Bank Region; Momodou Chatty Cham, Seyfo of Upper Nuimi; Alpha Khan, Chief of Jokadu; Takko Taal, Alkalo of Jufureh and Wandy Ceesay of Sika all expressed delight for what they described as a milestone achievement for the people of North Bank Region.
They all thanked the Barrow government through the Ministry of Works and NA, for now easing their transportation challenges.
The NRA and Ministry entourage later proceeded to the Kerewan-Njawara Road project in the North Bank Region.
