The National Roads Authority (NRA), together with the Ministry of Transport, Works, and Infrastructure (MOTWI), accompanied by the consultant and the contractor on Thursday, 12th September 2024, conducted a substantial completion handing over site inspection of the OIC 22km Bertil Harding Highway.
The road project, now almost completed, is planned to be handed over early next year to the government of the Gambia under the leadership of His Excellency President Adama Barrow.
The OIC road project stretches from the Airport Junction to Sting Corner. The Contractor is Arezki S.A, and SaudConsult and Gamtech JV are the Consultants. The National Roads Authority (NRA) is implementing the project on behalf of MoTWI, the Client for the project.
This inspection provides the opportunity to address contractually outstanding works before the final handover of the project. The Ministry was represented by the Permanent Secretary Matarr Ceesay, and NRA was represented by the Managing Director, Ousman Sanyang. Key members of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) from both NRA and the Ministry also attended the site inspection.
