The Project Manager of the ongoing construction of Lot 2 OIC 50km Urban Roads project, Mr Modou Sanyang has said that NRA has prioritised selected roads which are to be completed before the OIC Summit adding that these are roads that are within the summit vicinity for delegates.
Modou Sanyang who also doubles as the Feeder Roads Engineer of the National Roads Authority (NRA), was speaking in an interview during the site visits on the ongoing construction of the OIC 50km Urban Roads project Lot 2, held on Tuesday 2nd April 2024
Mr Sanyang, who accompanied his NRA delegation led by the Managing Director together with the consultant (PACE/GAMECS JV) and the Contractor (PAVI FORT, GAMBISARA and HUTA JV) visited four of the roads being constructed under this Lot.
The delegation visited roads under Lot 2 being constructed: P7- connects to Touba Sanchaba Roads, Kerr Serign and Sukuta Camping (1.93km); P8 – links Bijilo (Bertil Harding) to Sukuta Nemasu Latrikunda (6.85km) and P6 – which starts from Kololi Tavern to Bijilo and Brufut (8.60km) respectively.
“We are moving steadily to prioritise some of the roads where the VIPs of the summit will be lodged. We must bear in mind that the project is much delayed, but we are trying to cope with the situation,” said the Project Manager for Lot 2 OIC 50km Urban Roads project.
He added that the latest site visits conducted on Lot (2) were meant to give a comprehensive assessment of what to expect in the coming months, adding that certain roads are going to be prioritised for the OIC Summit delegates.
“To be honest, we have gone very far on the ongoing projects in Lot 2 compared to a couple of months ago. When we were coming as project manager, the project was about 9% work done. This has improved significantly to more than 24% of progress,” he revealed.
