President Barrow to Inaugurate EPC Lot 8 Gunjur Seaside Road on Saturday
President of the Republic of The Gambia, Adama Barrow, is expected to preside over the inauguration of the newly constructed Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Lot 8 Gunjur Seaside Road Project on Saturday, 29 August 2026, in the West Coast Region.
The inauguration will mark the beginning of a series of commissioning ceremonies for newly completed government-funded road projects, scheduled to take place across the country in September.
The 4.5-kilometre Gunjur Seaside Road Project was implemented by Green Vision International under the supervision of the National Roads Authority (NRA). The project includes concrete-paved roads, drainage infrastructure on both sides of the carriageway, and streetlighting.
The road connects the Brusubi–Kartong Highway to the Gunjur seaside, with a branch extending to the Gunjur Sheikh Ahmad Futi Grand Mosque.
The newly completed infrastructure is expected to significantly improve road safety and accessibility, while enhancing connectivity to the Tourism Development Area. It will also facilitate easier movement for residents, businesses, worshippers and visitors, supporting economic activity and tourism development in the area.
The project forms part of the Government’s broader investment in road infrastructure aimed at improving connectivity, mobility and access to key economic and social destinations across The Gambia.
