The National Roads Authority (NRA), through its Deputy Managing Director Sulayman Sumareh Janneh and the Minister of Transport, Works, and Infrastructure, Hon. Ebrima Sillah, hailed the Contractor for the EPC Lot 2 roads project, Cornerstone Construction, for their level of progress on the project so far.

Significant progress has been achieved on Lot 2 of the EPC Roads Project in the Central River Region (CRR), with overall completion at 66%.

The Contractor is actively working on two (2) roads out of the three (3) various road sections.

Below is the detailed progress update for each section:

1. Njau Loop up to Carol Warf (12km).

The contractor has completed Site clearing, subgrade, subbase, base course and drainage structures but is yet to begin the Double surface dressing work.

Overall Progress is 75%.

2. Karantaba-Reneru-Tabanani-Demfaye Njaga-fitu Fulla (26km).

After completing site clearing, earthwork, subgrade, subbase, and drainage structures, the Contractor Cornerstone is now working on the base course and double surface dressing.

The overall progress is 69.8%.

3. Laminkoto-Banni-Youna-Kunting (12km).

After already finishing the earthwork, subgrade, and subbase, the contractor is on the base course and drainage structures but has yet to start the double surface

Overall Progress is 52%.

Hon. Ebrima Sillah, Minister of Transport, Works, and Infrastructure (MOTWI), expressed delight at the level of progression registered the various projects visited so far, particularly in Lot 2.

According to him, the ongoing Lot 2 project is a very important road as they were a non-existent road, very difficult to access.

He added that the Lot 2 project is also seen as a social project as it provides water borehole services to certain communities for people and their livestock.

He also thanked the contractor for doing phenomenal work on the Lot 2 project in the Central River Region.

Sulayman Sumareh Janneh, Deputy Managing Director of National Roads Authority (NRA), expressed satisfaction with the ongoing EPC Lot 2 project in the Central River Region while praising the contractor, Cornerstone, for the well-deserved quality work.

According to him, the Authority is ensuring that all roads are built with quality and good drainage structures to serve for a very long time.

Jonas Agyemang, Cornerstone Construction Project Manager, said that the project is going well and that they are looking to complete the project on schedule.

According to him, they are currently on 68% completion, noting that they are facing no major challenges as they hold community engagement.
