Banni–Salikene–Njaba Kunda Road Set for Official Inauguration
Residents of Banni, Salikene, Njaba Kunda, and surrounding communities in the North Bank Region are set to benefit from improved connectivity as the 16.14-kilometre Banni–Salikene–Njaba Kunda Road Project reaches substantial completion and is now ready for official inauguration.
Fully funded by the Government of The Gambia, the project is being executed by Bajam Construction Limited under the supervision of the National Roads Authority (NRA). The new road represents another significant milestone in the Government’s commitment to expanding the country’s road network and improving access to rural communities.
The project is expected to enhance the movement of people, goods, and services while creating greater opportunities for trade, agriculture, education, and access to healthcare. By providing a reliable all-weather road, it will also contribute to the socio-economic development of the beneficiary communities and the wider North Bank Region.
With the asphalt pavement successfully completed along the entire 16.14-kilometre stretch, the contractor is currently carrying out the installation of road signs, pavement markings, and other road safety furniture ahead of the official inauguration.
The completion of the Banni–Salikene–Njaba Kunda Road underscores the Government’s continued investment in modern road infrastructure aimed at fostering inclusive development, improving mobility, and enhancing the quality of life for Gambians across the country.
