Barrow Inaugurates Karantaba–Reneru–Fitu Fulla Road Project
As part of his ongoing tour to launch and inaugurate development projects across the country, President Adama Barrow on Tuesday, 11 August 2026, inaugurated the 26-kilometre Karantaba–Reneru–Tabanani–Demfaye Njaga–Fitu Fulla Road Project in the Central River Region (CRR).
The project is being implemented under EPC Lot 2 and is fully funded by the Government of The Gambia. Cornerstone is the contractor, while Pace and GAMECS are serving as consultants.
EPC Lot 2 comprises three road links: the 12-kilometre Laminkoto–Banni–Youna–Kunting Road, the 26-kilometre Karantaba–Reneru–Tabanani–Demfaye Njaga–Fitu Fulla Road, and the 12-kilometre Njau Loop–Carol Wharf Road. The latter was inaugurated earlier on Monday.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Reneru, President Barrow described the 26-kilometre Reneru–Karantaba road project as a major milestone for the Central River Region.
He said the project has the potential to transform the lives of thousands of people across the region, stressing that the inauguration represents more than a commitment to development—it marks the delivery of tangible infrastructure to communities.
