Barrow visits ongoing Gunjur & Sanyang road projects
As part of his ongoing Meet with the People’s tour, President Adama Barrow on Monday, 24th November 2025, visited the ongoing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Lot 8 and 9 road projects in the West Coast Region (WCR) respectively.
The first inspection visits on Monday, 23rd November 2025, started at Lot 8 in Gunjur, before Lot 9 in Sanyang.
The Lot 8 project in Gunjur starts from the Brusubi-Kartong Highway to the Gunjur seaside. It also branches to the Gunjur Sheikh Ahmad Futi Grand Mosque.
The 4.5km road project is contracted to Green Vision International, a Gambian-owned Construction Company, and the consultant and supervisor is the National Roads Authority (NRA).
The project is a concrete payment and drainage facility on both sides. It would be a modern road with streetlights.
The entire surfacing of the Gunjur stretch has been completed and the outstanding works are the drains, solar streetlights and road furniture respectively.
The overall progress is at 95% completion.
Elsewhere, Lot 9 Sanyang (Hawba) Road Project.
This project, which goes to Sanyang seaside, is 4.5km and is contracted to Zen Construction and Trading Company, a Gambian-owned company.
The project is a carriage concrete way, with a sidewalk and drainage facilities, including an Irish crossing.
The overall progress of the road is 96% complete.
The contractor has entirely completed the surfacing works, and the outstanding works are drainage, solar streetlights, and the road furniture respectively.
