EPC Lot 1 Road Project Records Steady Progress in Upper River Region
Work on the EPC Lot 1 road construction project in the Upper River Region (URR) is progressing steadily, with the overall project currently standing at 48.5% completion.
The project, being constructed by Gai Construction, covers several key road sections across the region. Construction activities are ongoing on three major road corridors, while the relocation of NAWEC water pipes is currently underway on six roads within Basse Township.
The project is being supervised by Cityscape Associates, the appointed consultant.
On the Manneh Kunda–Demba Kunda–Numuyel Road, base layer final-level cutting and second seal surface dressing are in progress.
Meanwhile, drainage structures and concrete pavement works are ongoing on the Basse–Dempha Kunda–Tambasansang Road, while sub-grade, sub-base and base layer dumping and processing continue on the Sutukoba–Chamoi Bunda Road.
Section-by-Section Progress Updates
1. Manneh Kunda–Demba Kunda–Numuyel Road (12.18km):
The contractor has completed 100 per cent of the base course layer, with 1.2km of concrete pavement completed in Numuyel. Surface dressing is currently ongoing, bringing the overall progress of this section to 72%.
2. Basse–Dempha Kunda–Tambasansang Road (9.12km):
Following the completion of the base course layer, construction has moved into drainage structures and concrete pavement works.
Culvert construction is 95 per cent complete, while concrete pavement stands at 50 per cent, resulting in an overall progress of 57%.
3. Sutukoba–Chamoi Bunda Road (27km):
Earthworks, including fill layer, sub-grade, sub-base and base layer works, are actively ongoing.
This section has reached 25% completion.
4. Santusu Road (1.3km):
Roadbed preparation has been fully completed, while sub-base layer dumping is currently in progress. Overall progress on this section stands at 10%.
The EPC Lot 1 project is expected to significantly improve road connectivity and transportation within the Upper River Region upon completion.
