NRA MD & Works Minister satisfied with progress of ongoing Lot 3 road project in LRR
Hon. Ebrima Sillah, Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure (MOTWI) and the Managing Director of the National Roads Authority (NRA) have both expressed satisfaction with the level of progress at the ongoing EPC Lot 3 Kiang Kabada Road Project in the Lower River Region (LRR).
According to the Minister, the Chinese Contractor Longjain have completed the sealings in some sections, while thanking the NRA for supervision and teamwork of his ministry.
MD Sumareh-Janneh was also pleased with the quality of work seen in the project, while also thanking the contractor and the Consultant for their efforts in trying to finish the project before the scheduled time.
This project which constitutes part of the Kabada Loop transport link to the Trans-Gambia Highway.
The project consists of the construction of twelve (12) roads, approximately 90km in total length and all the roads are currently on base level.
The contractor is actively workfive project roads out of 12.
Overall work progress is estimated at 63.4%
The contractor for the project is Longjain, while Gamecs serves as the Consultant.
1. NJOLFEN TORANKA BANTANG KOLIOR SULAH (5.728 KM)
Following the completion of the earthworks, reinforced concrete pavements (Irish crossing) and drainage structures, the contractor is now working on the surface treatment (31.25%), Prime coat (30%) and erosion control (89.2%)
2. GAMBIA BORDER-SARE SAJO-JATTA KUNDA-NEMAKUTA (8.545 KM)
The contractor is currently working on the earthworks (93%) and reinforced concrete pavements (Irish crossing) 88% respectively.
3. NIORO-SIBITO-SARE SUNA-KUNDONG FULAKUNDA (7.336 KM).
The contractor is currently working on the surfacing (46%), after completing the earthworks, reinforced concrete pavements (Irish crossing) and drainage structures.
4. SIBITO-GAMBIA BORDER (3.8 KM)
Both the earthworks and reinforced concrete pavement (Irish crossing) are completed.
5. KWINELLA-WELLINGARA-TABANANI-MADINA-NIORO-SARE SAJO-NJOLFEN ALIGNMENT (18.880 KM).
The contractor is currently working on the surface treatment (45.2%), surfacing (pavement layer and Prime coat (44.5%).
6. NJOLFEN-MEDINA-SARE SAMBA-DARUSALEM (9.882 KM)
Earthworks, reinforced concrete pavements (Irish crossing), drainage structures and erosion control are all completed.
7. SARE SAJO-SARE NDALLA-TORANKA BANTANG-SARE PATEH-YORO JULA (6.296 KM).
The contractor is working on the earthworks (98%) and reinforced concrete pavements (Irish crossing) 88%.
8. SARE SAJO – SIBITO – TRANSGAMBIA (11.010 KM).
The contractor has completed the earthworks, reinforced concrete pavements (Irish crossing) and surface treatment respectively.
9. DARUSALEM – SARE MUSA – TRANS-GAMBIA (10.123 KM)
The earthworks, reinforced concrete pavements (Irish crossing) and drainage structures (culverts) and erosion control are all completed.
10. DARUSALEM-KOHEL-FONKOI KUNDA-JARA SOMA-SBTR-TRANSGAMBIA (9.570KM)
The earthworks, reinforced concrete pavements (Irish crossing) and drainage structures (culverts) and erosion control are all completed.
11. MEDINA-KAIAF (5.221 KM)
The earthworks, reinforced concrete pavements (Irish crossing) and drainage structures (culverts) and erosion control are all completed.
12. KAIAF-MUNKUTALLA-MEDINA (5.711 KM)
Earthworks and reinforced concrete pavement are completed
