NRA Technical Team Inspects Progress on Garawol–Kusum Road Project
The National Roads Authority (NRA) technical team has inspected the ongoing 6-kilometre Garawol–Kusum Road Project in the Upper River Region (URR) as part of its nationwide tour to monitor the implementation of road infrastructure projects.
The project, being executed by ETIC Construction Company under the supervision of the NRA, is expected to improve connectivity and facilitate the movement of people and goods for communities including Baraji Kunda, Kebbeh Kunda, Kanjabina, Sami Kuta and surrounding settlements.
During the inspection, the team observed that following the completion of the subbase and base course, the contractor is simultaneously undertaking priming and sealing works. To date, 2.75km of the road has been primed, while 2.65km have been sealed, bringing the overall physical progress of the project to 53.7%.
Project engineers explained that the road has been designed with key drainage and erosion-control structures to improve durability and resilience during the rainy season. They also noted that the 6km road forms part of a larger 30km corridor that has already been surveyed for future development.
The NRA continues to closely supervise the project to ensure quality construction, timely delivery, and improved road connectivity for communities across the Upper River Region.
