The African Institute of Management Science (AIMS) through its Director of Administration and Programmes on Wednesday, 13th March 2024, paid a courtesy call to the management of the National Roads Authority (NRA). The visit is part of their ongoing familiarisation tour to the institutions that have been partnering with them and have been sending their workers or staff for capacity-building training at AIMS. Mamudi T. Seidu, Director of Administration at the African Institute of Management Science (AIMS) said he is here on behalf of AIMS on a familiarisation tour to learn more about the institutions that have been patronising their services, to also learn and make sure they meet their needs towards future training. He added that they run various programmes in management projects, finance, human resource management, and administration and management, amongst others. Mr Seidu noted that they also organise customized programmes for institutions depending on the needs of the organisation in terms of the course content, adding that they have been training workers and staff of various institutions for over 18 years in Ghana and beyond. According to him, they have clients coming from almost everywhere within the African region especially in West, East and South Africa respectively, adding that is only the North African countries that have not been attending their programmes aside from Egypt due to perhaps language barriers. For his part, Sulayman Sumareh Janneh, Deputy Managing Director, NRA, thanked Mr Seidu for visiting the National Roads Authority (NRA), saying that the Authority will be looking forward to continuing the good relationship with AIMS Institute. According to him, capacity-building training is essential to any institution to its workers and staff for the development of that institution and the country at large. Bai Bittaye, Director of Human Resources and Admin at NRA said the NRA valued training and capacity building for its staff, adding that this is where the Authority’s core advantage lies. “Because when you get your staff trained and know what you want, then delivery is very easy. Training is part of the main activity for the institution this year. Now we have an assessment for our people to see what kind of training will be needed to develop staff towards the development of the institution.” According to him, the NRA is still committed to continue training its staff and workers at AIMS iInstitute hile thanking them through Mr. Seidu for their professionalism in handling training, not only for NRA but for other Gambian institutions. Meanwhile, the African Institute of Management Science (AIMS) is a capacity-building organization that works to develop the institutional framework, organizational capabilities , nd skills required to realize social and economic development. AIMS and its partners share responsibility for project planning and design, resource allocation, organization, and implementation.
