NRA Technical Team Reviews Progress on EPC Lot 2 Road Project in CRR
The National Roads Authority (NRA) technical team, on Thursday, 2nd July 2026, inspected the ongoing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Lot 2 Road Project in the Central River Region (CRR) as part of its nationwide project monitoring tour.
The project comprises three roads: the Laminkoto–Banni–Youna–Kunting Road (12km), Karantaba–Reneru–Tabanani–Demfaye Njaga–Fitu Fulla Road (26km), and the Njau Loop–Carol Wharf Road (12km).
The scope of works includes earthworks, pavement construction, double bituminous surface dressing (DBST), drainage structures, road furniture, bus stops, streetlighting, road signage, and other road safety features.
The project has attained an overall physical progress of 82%.
During the inspection, the team observed that the Karantaba–Reneru–Tabanani–Demfaye Njaga–Fitu Fulla Road is 96% complete, with sealing works fully completed and only road markings, signage, and kilometre posts remaining.
The Njau Loop–Carol Wharf Road has reached 82% completion, with all major civil works and surface dressing completed.
Meanwhile, the Laminkoto–Banni–Youna–Kunting Road stands at 68% completion, where base course works are ongoing ahead of the commencement of surface dressing.
Speaking on the project, Asa Awuku-Ansah, Resident Engineer for the supervising consultant, Cityscape, stated that the area has not experienced any flooding over the past two years. He attributed this to the construction of culverts and Irish crossings, which were designed to improve drainage and effectively mitigate flooding.
The NRA reaffirmed its commitment to closely supervising the project to ensure that the remaining works are completed to the required engineering standards, delivering a safer and more efficient road network that will enhance connectivity and support socio-economic development across the Central River Region.
